Friday, December 4, 2020 was a night to remember for one of Ghana’s finest singer-songwriters, Gyakie, as she took the stage for her maiden concert inside Level Up (Twist Lounge).  

The FLIP THE MUSIC artist together with TEL band, treated fans to some of her ever-green soulful songs. She performed her official debut hit song ‘Never Like This’, followed by other well-received songs including ‘Forever’, ‘Whine’, ‘Control’, ‘Love is Pretty, ‘Vacation’ amongst others.

Artists such as E.L, Bisa Kdei, Bosom P-Yung, $pacely, Ayisi also hit the stage with Gyakie to light up the concert. Sarkodie, Joey B, Ama K. Abebrese, Efya amongst other celebrated public figures also graced the occasion with their presence.

‘’Level Up with Gyakie, my maiden concert was a memorable one for me! One that will forever be in the records especially for an emerging act like myself. I had mixed feelings before the show, but I was mind blown with the number of people that showed up. We had an overflow, people waited outside to experience my music and that alone is heavy for me. I can’t wait for this to become a culture where my fans get to enjoy live band music from Gyakie annually’’, Gyakie expressed.

Gyakie’s debut EP ‘’Seed’’ is still raking numbers on all digital streaming platforms globally. The EP currently has 4 million+ stream across all platforms with ‘Sor Mi Mu’ hitting 1 million+ streams on Audiomack.

Organized by Street-Life Entertainment, multiple award-winning songstress, songwriter and actor, Efya will headline “Somewhere In Ghana” – a concert which has become one of the biggest events to look forward to in December here in Ghana alongside her Nigerian counterpart, Stanley Omah Didia , known professionally as Omah Lay on Saturday, December 19 at the Untamed Empire, Spintex Road, Accra.

Dubbed “Drive-In Cinema and Concert With Efya” for this December, the event will feature indigenous and Intriguing movies like Away Bus, others while an incredible lineup of your favorite heavy-hitting artists across the African continent perform intermittently to support Efya. This could be described as distinctive and remarkable because it is the first time an event of that nature would be held in Ghana.

This informal, carnivalesque atmosphere in a form of cinema structure within the enclosed space, will lend itself to a strange combination of socialization and isolation. Outside of the car, attendees could mix and meet new people. Inside, they enjoy privacy and a viewing opportunity that had more in common with the living room than the movie palace.

For the past two years, the event has been held at upscale and indulgent hotels and restaurants including Accra City Hotel, Kempinski Hotel, Ibist Styles Hotel, Zen Gardens, Peduase Valley Resort, Bosphorus Restaurant, etc. The concert of its first kind, promises to be held annually to showcase the beauty of our creative industry and culture with live experience.

Cape Coast must be very blessed to have the likes of Kahpun still pushing his music craft across all corners. He has successfully held another historic virtual concert over the weekend in his hometown (Cape Coast).

His first virtual concert done in Accra on August 15, 2020 with Eno Barony, AK Songstress, Lord Morgan as guest appearances; it pulled a plausible feat, courtesy, Joy Prime TV.

As a way of supporting his fellow artistes back home, Kahpun pulled along some of his contemporaries like Orkortor Perry, Kojo Vypa, Jungle Boss, Boggy Wenzday, Yaw Blvck, Saa Boy No, Isaac Crentsil, Papa Gyetey, among others. Ayesem was a special guest on the tall list of performers in Kahpun’s set for Cape Coast.

Kahpun performed his songs back to back for over 90 minutes with live band.

“Election Time”, his latest release was not left out of the catalogue! A song he did recently to caution Ghanaians and electorates ahead of the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary Elections to be wary of politicians who would come to them with sugar-coated words just to get votes and deceive them again.

Kahpun has had a colorful year with at least 5 solid releases with 2 international features with Anthony B (Jamaica) and Stonebwoy (Ghana), respectively.
