University Of Professional Studies, Accra Honours Stonebwoy.

Livingston Etse Satekla, known by stage name Stonebwoy, a Ghanaian Reggae Dancehall artist over the weekend in a ceremony organized by the University of Professional Studies, Accra Alumni got awarded for his immense contribution towards the entertainment industry.

The Burn it on music group C.E.O in his acceptance expressed gratitude for the honour made him and advised all and sundry on the benefits of getting a formal education and the need to also educate yourself outside the classroom curriculum.

Stonebwoy who was a part of the 2013 year group of the University was among the illustrious sons and daughters of the prestigious University who were invited to the 2018 alumni dinner and handing over ceremony where the newly elected executives of the association had their induction.

The event which had in attendance alumni of the University of Professional Studies who are climbing the success ladder just fine in their respective fields of endeavor had Hon. Forson Cassiel Ato, an alumni, the Member of Parliament for the Ajumako-Enyan Esiam Constituency in the central Region and a former Minister of Finance as the keynote speaker. Management of the University were also fairly represented by the Chancellor, Dr. Kinsley A. Fletcher, Prof. Goski Alabi, Dr Mustapha among others.

Stonebowy on the 28th of December will host his annual Bhim Nation concert at the Fantasy Dome – Trade Fare. It’s tipped to be the biggest Reggae Dancehall event Ghana is yet to see, do well to get tickets and support the top skanka.

Africa’s Premier Female DJ, Zinhle, Featured On Red Bull Live

CAPETOWN – Tuesday, April 7, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – With the release of her summer hit “Umlilo” just behind her, Africa’s numero unu female Disk Jockey, DJ Zinhle, returned to Red Bull Studios Cape Town to headline the first edition of Red Bull Music Studios Live to share what her highlight for 2019 was and what she hopes to achieve in 2020 with her forth coming album.

The multi-talented musician and powerhouse interview will be hosted by Metro FM’s Mo Flava, and will go live on Thursday, 9 April at 7PM on Red Bull South Africa’s Instagram Live.

One of the biggest tracks of the summer, DJ Zinhle’s ‘Umlilo’ is actually a song that worships God as she explains in this episode of Red Bull Behind the Track. “It talks about the wonders of God’s love and is based on bible scriptures,” DJ Zinhle explains of the track which references God’s appearance to Moses as a burning bush.

It talks about the wonders of God’s love and is based on bible scriptures. The sonic reference for the track was DJ Ganyani’s ‘Emazulwini’ and DJ Zinhle and her team started recording soon after hearing the first drafts over WhatsApp. “When we walked out of the studio I knew we had a big a song,” DJ Zinhle says of ‘Umlilo’.

The Red Bull Music Studios network provides a recording space for artists around the globe to explore their passion and give wings to their ideas. The network consists of 11 world-class studios. Each studio is fully equipped with state-of-the-art recording equipment and facilities, giving artists and producers the ultimate environment to create and perfect their sound.

DJ Black Coffee Announces A Weekly Online Event

SOUTH AFRICA – Tuesday, April 6, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – DJ Black Coffee’s company, Soulistic Agency, has announced that, it will be hosting a Lockdown edition of the South African house music superstar’s tour tagged, “Africa Is Not A Jungle” which is scheduled to take place across South Africa and other parts of the continent

The Lockdown edition of the concert will be hosted on Facebook and YouTube every Thursday between 18h00 and 23h00 SAST featuring various dance music deejays. It will be replicated in Angola, Mozaambique, Uganda and Lesotho, though date and time has not been announced. The tour was put on hold in March soon after President Cyril Ramaphosa banned social gatherings of more than 100 people.

In a news release from the label, Soulistic Music is poised at entertaining music lovers during this lockdown period. Earlier, Black Coffee kicked off his first of weekly livestreams residency called Home Brewed with an active Go-Fund-Me account for the recipients of the Solidarity Fund South Africa to help raise funds and build awareness about the Covid-19 pandemic.

Soulistic Music, founded by Durban born DJ/Producer, Nkosinathi Maphumulo popularly known as Black Coffee in 2005 and was later joined by DJ Kabila and Tumelo, however DJ Kabila left the label to leave the label to explore other possibilities after introducing to the label a high school DJ/Producer Culoe De Song who was only 17 years of age at that time.

The four year old label has had quiet a number of digital releases under different labels such as Real Tone, Innervissions, GOGO Music and Offering Recordings. Soulistic Music is by statistics one of the most best selling and most loved label in this digital era, hence the artist are continually being invited to perform in various events around the globe.

Sarkodie Goes Hard On New Release Dubbed “Sub Zero” (ASEM & Ball J DISS)

GREATER ACCRA, GHANA, Monday, April 6, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Ghanaian Rapper Sarkodie has released a new single dubbed “SubZero”. Social media users believe the song is directed to ASEM, who released freestyle on twitter today aiming at Sarkodie.

Asem’s freestyle was trending the whole day until a couple of minutes ago when King Sark gave him a reply.

Sarkodie went really hard on this song which has made everyone direct their attention to it.

Two lines that have caught the eye of people are;

1. “Br3 woho ase, s3 me yeya wo kwraa, ew) s3 wodaase” which means “Be Humble, even if I insult you, you have to thank me”

2. “Wanim S3 Car ase” which means “his face looks like the under part of a car”

Nigeria Tops Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List For 2020, DJ Cuppy, Mr Eazi, Patoranking Among The List

April 3, 2020, Forbes released its tenth annual “30 Under 30” list.

Spread across categories like finance, tech, art, and sports, it features 30 young entrepreneurs in Africa who are innovating their respective industries.

With Nigeria topping the list, below are the young entrepreneurs who made the list.

Every year, Forbes Africa releases a list of top 30 under 30 young Africans who are doing amazing things for themselves and for their community.

This year wasn’t any different and the publication released names of 30 Africans sourced from four categories featuring 30 in each: Business, Technology, Creatives and Sports.

Nigeria makes up the majority of honorees in the list, shedding light on the entrepreneurial and can-do spirit of the young people in the country.

South Africa and Botswana had four of their young entrepreneurs on the list. Ghana had three young people while Uganda had two of its young entrepreneurs on the list.

Cameroon, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Sudan and Ivory had one young entrepreneur making the list.
