UNITED SHOWBIZ: Is It Getting Better On UTV? Legendary Producer, Fred Kyei Mensah, Reviews

Published

on

Every invention comes through with a dream and series of experiments. Gold in its raw state, doesn’t look attractive, unless it passes through certain processes before it glitters. United showbiz on UTV started somewhere in August 2019 hosted by the adorable, indefatigable and beautiful Nana Ama Mcbrown Mensah with swag on papa Fadda Dickson,Kennedy Osei Harold Roger Quartey and others behind the production. Kudos team United showbiz. Read Fred Kyei Mensah‘s review below;

Hostess

“Nana Ama Mcbrown has control over the program with her imposing image, sense of humor, line of questions, interactions with her guests, and her witty facial expressions sometimes add flavor to the program.

Guests

“Since its inception, a lot of personalities in the showbiz industry have passed through from music, movies, comedy, legends, producers you name it. Yours truly passed through on the 15th September, 2019. It was great that day. Guests feel relaxed with some small chops and drinks provided by Lucky Lawson. Some viewers were complaining that, the guests were too many on the set sometimes so, it doesn’t allow time for the hostess to ask the relevant questions because of those distractions. It cannot be perfect always but going forward, the complains can be taken into consideration. Production team, over to you. So far, all the guests invited, have made the show what it is today. Great personalities.

Technical Production

“It can get better as we go along. Sound has seen vast improvement over time especially when a live band is playing and i am using headphones phone or an earpiece to monitor. Regards to Richard Andoh-Bissue and his team. Camera shots have also improved but more needed to add up. I know the studio is not all that big. Graphics are on point but, they must pay attention to detail especially with wordings and spellings. The pictures below shows some terrible mistakes on designations, titles and spellings.

Live Band

“The Safoa Band plays so well in almost all the episodes that i have watched. Great guys. However, they should be off stage or offered a seat when the discussions start! It’s an eyesore seeing them standing and making gesture whilst the guests are engaged in conversations. Very unattractive.

Conclusion

“Because of the relationship between the Despite Media and the platform of UTV, it is the dream of every creative arts person to appear on the show. Thanks to the executive producers, Fadda Dickson and Kennedy Osei for some of the gifts that are given to guests based on the nature of the topic for discussion on each episode. When Fred Amugi was celebrated, he was given a tv, fridge and cash. Quite recently, Pat Thomas, Shatta Capo, Reggie Rockstone and Adumatta were all showered with gifts and cash as well. I hope mine will come soon. Thanks to regular panelist like Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, Nana Asiamah Hansen(Bull dog) A plus, Abeiku Santana etc. Let’s get glued to our seats every Saturday at 9pm and watch this great program.

THE CROWN: Netflix’s Biggest Shows Set Wrap Up After Its Fifth Season

Published

on

Earlier this year, it emerged that The Crown, one of Netflix’s biggest shows, would wrap up after its fifth season. But it has reversed course, as it’s returning to creator and writer Peter Morgan’s initial concept of a six-season run for the Royal Family drama.

“As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons,” Morgan told Variety in a statement. “To be clear, Series 6 will not bring us any closer to present-day — it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail.”

By the time it ends, The Crown will cover Queen Elizabeth II’s life up to the early 2000s. So, it won’t touch on more recent events, such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the Royal Family.

Filming on season four wrapped up just before the onset of COVID-19 lockdowns in the UK. That season is expected to hit Netflix later in 2020, a year or so after season three premiered. It’ll bring an end to Oscar-winner Olivia Colman’s two-season stint as Queen Elizabeth II, as Imelda Staunton is taking over the role for the final two seasons.

After successfully securing a spot as the host of Apple Music’s Africa Now Radio show, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola – a Nigerian disc jockey and producer professionally known as Cuppy, has signed a publishing and management deal with Platoon – a startup out of London that works primarily with musicians — but also other creators like writers.

According to award-winning Disk Jockey who is yet to release her debut album “Original Cuppy”, the Apple owned firm being her ally for music has now literally enabled her craft and secured a slot in the music ecosystem. She made this agreement public in a video in which was shared on 7 July.

Platoon was launched in 2016 by industry expert Denzyl Feigelson and LoveFilm co-founder Saul Klein with the goal of supporting the independent distribution of music. Over the years, it has partnered with leading musicians like Mr Eazi, Billie Eilish, Jacob Banks, and award-winning UK stars Stefflon Don and Jorja Smith.

And, in 2018, a report in Music Business Worldwide confirmed that, Apple has acquired Platoon, a startup out of London that works primarily with musicians — but also other creators like writers — to produce (it has its own studios), distribute and sell their work, using analytics to source talent, and figure out the best way to target and market that content: the modern-day tech equivalent of A&R services.
