The Spanish Embassy in Accra and Casa Africa; Spain’s public cultural organization invites Kyekyeku and his Super Opong stars, One of Ghana’s true to type and prototypical Highlife collectives to stage a peace concert as Ghana prepares to vote.
The concert which goes virtual with invited guests welcomes Ghana’s Legendary Funk and Simigwa Highlife king Ambolley. FRA, the afro fusion band that last year did a tour of Spain’s biggest music festivals have also been invited. To complete the lineup will be Evergreen Brass; lining up with Ayesem, one of Ghana’s fast rising acts.
Ghana and Spain relations will be further strengthened this December through this collaborative peace concert that aims at buttressing the democratic values which the country enjoys since the beginning of the 4th republic.
Streaming of the concert will be free on the pages of Casa Africa and Super Opong Stars on the 5th December at 8pm with a message from all the lineup to promote inter political dialogue and invite the various political parties and the followers to exercise their franchise within a peaceful, calm and violent free manner in the build up to and after the elections slated for 7th December in Ghana.

The world’s number one beach festival Afro Nation will hit the shores of Portugal after postponing 2020’s edition. Sounds from different genres; Afrobeats, hip-hop, dancehall, bashment, high-life and R&B will be heard again with artists from different continents gracing the Afro-Nation stage. It is Europe’s biggest urban music beach festival. The 2021 Afro Nation festival will take place between the 1st of July to the 4th of July at Raia da Rocha beach in Portimao, The Algarve, Portugal.

This big announcement comes after the Minister of Economy, Portugal made a statement saying people will return to restaurants, parties, and summer festivals will come back with full force.

Oxlade Performs A Bathroom Session With Clash Magazine And WaterAid
Nigerian singer-songwriter and musician, Oxlade, over the weekend supported WaterAid; an international non-governmental organization, focused on water, sanitation and hygiene to raise money for its Future on Tap appeal by performing some of his best-known songs and new music from his privy. The Bathroom Sessions were free to watch and was streamed on WaterAid’s and Clash Magazine’s Facebook channels.
Whereas the organization’s May Bathroom Sessions benefited their COVID-19 emergency appeal, this time Water Aid to raised funds to deliver clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to people around the world who are disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.

Bathroom Sessions is a unique online music festival featuring influential artists from around the world who come together to play exclusive sets from their bathrooms in support of WaterAid’s vital work. In 2020 they’ve had some amazing line-ups, from UK acts Mel C, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and High Contrast, to international superstars Stonebwoy, Yuna, Simi and Johnny Drille.
Audiomack Unveiled Official Streaming Platform For 2020 Afrochella Block Party
Audiomack today announced its collaboration with Afrochella to host the second edition of its Rising Star challenge designed to increase the visibility of artists across Africa. In addition to this, Audiomack will be sponsoring Afrochella’s block party on December 26th as the official streaming partner.
Launched in 2019, Rising Star is an initiative created to discover and promote up-and-coming talent across Africa. The first edition saw over a hundred entries from African artists compete for a chance to perform onstage at 2019 Afrochella, alongside a cash prize and a studio session with BBnZ Live – one of Ghana’s leading entertainment and artist management agencies.
This year, artists across the Africa continent are called upon to submit their music and portfolio to Audiomack for a chance to emerge as the winner of the second edition of the Rising Star challenge. 25 of the best submissions will be included in a curated Audiomack playlist for the public to discover these emerging talents. On January 12th, these submissions will be vetted and judged by music aficionados – Juls (British-Ghanaian producer), King Promise (Ghanaian singer-songwriter) and Olive Liv-Chisomebi Uche (Content Strategy Manager, Audiomack Africa). The chosen artist will win a cash prize of $1,000; a studio session at BBnZ Live as well as an artist feature on the Audiomack platform.
