During a public address on Sunday, January 3, 2020, Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize revealed that the South African government is in the middle of negotiations with international pharmaceutical companies to rollout Covid-19 vaccine strategy by end of February 2021 after a newly discovered COVID-19 strain caused an unprecedented rise in infections in December, 2020. In the address, the Health Minister stated that the vaccine rollout strategy will target four group populations that the ministry has determined a priority.
Healthcare workers will reportedly be the first group to receive the vaccine, followed by high risk groups specifically those who are HIV-positive or people over the age of 60. People that are in confined areas with large congregations such as prisons and hospice. Additionally, tourism sector employees and educational workers will be prioritised. The last group are those that qualify as essential workers including the police, miners, banking sector personnel and essential municipal employees.
According to the health minister, by the end of phase three, 40 350 000 citizens will have been immunized which is equivalent to approximately 67,25% of the population. He added that, they have secured the doses that will be acquired through COVAX which will ensure that they immunize 10% of the population through this mechanism and, in line with President’s statement, they expect the processes will have delivered the vac-cine by beginning of second quarter.

Yesterday’s edition aired on Instagram where She spoke about Pericoronitis; an inflammation of the tissue surrounding a third molar, otherwise known as a wisdom tooth. According to her, the condition most often occurs in molars that are partially impacted, or not fully visible. The cause of this condition is similar to the formation of a gum abscess in periodontitis by the entrapment of debris under the gingival tissue, she educated.
Ayisha Modi And Abass Sariki Walk For Peace Ahead Of Elections
Outstanding public personality with social media influence, Ayisha Modi, popularly known as ‘She Loves Stonebwoy’, on Friday, December 4, 2020, joined the Youth President – Abass Sariki Giwa to lead thousands of Ghanaians in a walk to campaign for peace ahead of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections slated for December 7. The event also witnessed the presence of Actors Kwaku Manu & Funny Face, Comedian Ajeezay, Nigerian musician Ayanfe.
Walking through some principal streets of Accra to preach peace ahead of the general elections, the pilgrimage started 6 AM from Accra Retail Centre known as the Accra Mall, and ended at Mr Clemence Djato’s office HI-TABLE RESTAURANT (Goil filling station) May3-Hot junction off the Ashaley Botswe road. Themed “Don’t Jeopardize The Peace We Have As A Nation”, speakers at the event took time to admonished the legible electorates to exercise their franchises free from violence.
Later in the evening at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, “She Loves Stonebwoy” bagged home the most outstanding media personality with social media influence at the maiden edition of Ghana Social Media Business And Creative Arts Awards. She was in the run with other capable and deserving personalities but she emerged victorious after her fans chose her through a tenure of votes.

Kasapreko CEO Donates Ultra-modern Polyclinic, Nissan Frontier To Wassa Amenfi Central
Kasapreko founder and CEO Dr Kwabena Adjei on [insert date] donated an ultra-modern polyclinic worth Ghs 2 million as well as a Nissan Frontier to the Municipal Health Directorate in the Wassa Amenfi Central municipality (W/R).
The donation is to afford people of Bonuama access to quality healthcare delivery. Construction of the facility commenced two years ago and forms part of Kasapreko’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in various communities around the country.
The polyclinic is composed of three doctors’ consulting rooms, an outpatient department (OPD), emergency ward, delivery suite, officers’ hall, records department, national health insurance department and conference room, as well as an auxiliary nursing department.
The gesture was warmly received by the chiefs and people of Bonuama, who previously had to travel long distances to access quality healthcare. The Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area Tetrete Okwamoah Skyrim commended Kasapreko for augmenting government efforts in improving quality health care delivery in the community. He also mentioned the need for people in his community to adopt maintenance culture.
Mr Adjei, who also happens to be an indigen of the community said his company was happy to contribute its quota to the health need of the people.
Meanwhile, Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah reiterated that the health of a people is also their wealth, adding that government will continue to welcome and work with the private sector to improve the quality of health care delivery in the country.
SONOTECH Commissions A Refurbished Female Gynae Ward Of The Police Hospital, Accra [SEE PHOTOS]
With a vision of witnessing an all right Africa through quality full service medical centres from across the country, SONOTECH Medical and Diagnostic Centre — with branches in Osu and Tema, on Thursday, 26th November 2020, commissioned and handed over a refurbished female Gynae ward of the National Police Hospital, Accra – Ghana.
Spending over 70, 000 Ghana Cedis on renovating and redecorating the facility through a collective effort, the ward has witnessed a monumental and remarkable improvement to the admiration of the staff, patients and general public who have had a glimpse of the previous situation. The current condition will provide a welcoming environment to persons who will be receiving or registered to receive medical treatment at the health institution.
The works included, provision of 4 new beds and mattresses, provision of 10-piece bedsheet set, 4 bedside lockers, fixing of wall tiles (2 meters high), change of louver blade windows to sliding and door, replacement of handwashing sink, provision of 2 ceiling fans and airconditions each, a television set, polishing of terrazzo floor, increased number of sockets from 1 to 8, increased lighting from 4 to 8, new window curtail blinds etc.
“The partnership between SONOTECH and the Police Hospital started almost a decade ago and has since then grown bigger and better”, Dr. Grace Buckman of SONOTECH Medical and Diagnostic Center speaking at the short ceremony.
“It is a partnership we cherish so much that when we were approached by the authorities, on the matter of this Gynae war, we made it a top priority”, she added.
“SONOTECH has always supported staff, specific departments and patients of this hospital in various ways. For instance, on the onset of COVID-19, we have distributed free nose masks to staff of the hospital to enable them discharge their duties”, Dr. Buckman revealed.
“Also in August this year, we supported the social services departments to do a free CT scan for a patient when the department approached us”, she added.
Accepting kind gesture Dr. Mariam Tetteh Korboe Dep. Commissioner of Police and Medical Director of The National Police Hospital expressed a heart of full gratitude to SONOTECH Medical and Diagnostic Centre for extending a helping to the hospital. She promised that, the facility will be used to execute its core and right mandates.
Dr. Mariam Tetteh Korboe also used the opportunity to make a plea to any good samaritan out there to use their platform to help renovate other dilapidated and ramshackle female wards which are in a state of disrepair or ruin as a result of age.
