Songstress NanaYaa Set To Release ‘Manye 1’ Album – December 20

NanaYaa ‘My hunny’ hit maker is set to release her debut album titled: ‘Manye 1’ on December 20th.

The 13-track album features artistes such as Edem, Flowking Stone, Shaker, Zeal of VVIP and dancehall act Epixode. It also has productions from Wei ye Oteng, Genius Selection, Citruss Beatz, Apya on the beatz, Ivan on the beatz and KSJ (Kwame Everett).

Listening to the songs on the album, (Manye 1) it shows the versatility of the singer in a more exciting way you will really appreciate.

There is a song for every type of music lover on the ‘Manye 1’ album by NanaYaa.

In talking about the debut album, the vocalist queen, NanaYaa noted that this album started off as an EP, then later to a mixtape and then now an album.

NanaYaa explained the album title Manye 1 as, ‘call it a re-birth or re-introduction of myself’. The title was heavily inspired by the fans especially my new ones; they have received me so well such that now everywhere I go all I hear is ‘Manye 1’.

Also “Manye” means a queen and since everyone calls me the queen of vocals, why not affirm the validation my fans and the world has already bestowed on me by making it official.

With regards to the songs on the album, NanaYaa disclosed that all songs have a story and special vibe. “Let me say that all 13 songs on this album even though fits every genre and music lover, they are all commercially good songs” – She opined.

In clearing the air on a story circulating in the media as to why Kojo Antwi and her dad were not on the album, Nanayaa set the records straight by saying that hopefully in 2019 there will be an album that will feature a lot of the big boys from Kojo Antwi, my dad (Pat Thomas) down to every one that fits the Neo-Soul, Hi-life and afro-album but this one, ‘Manye 1’, my debut was put together strictly for the fans & for commercial purposes.

The album- “Manye 1” by NanaYaa will be available on all music outlets this Thursday – December 20th but fans can get a exclusive first time listening on Aftownmusic.com and Boomplay.

COV!D-19/ Shatta Wale Donates Relief Items To Inmates

GREATER ACCRA – Thursday, April 9, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – In a bid to fulfil a promise he made a few days ago, One of Africa’s reggae and dance-hall star, Charles Nii-Armah Mensah, known as Shatta Wale has donated some coronavirus relief items to inmates to help fight the pandemic in the country.

Though he didn’t reveal where he did the donation, he shared photos from the event on his Facebook page with the caption, “Just surprised these inmates in these difficult times. Let’s continue to stay safe and think about the vulnerabilities in society and lend our little support any way we could. God bless us all! Keep your faith alive, all these shall pass.”

Shatta Wale later in the video disclosed he will be making more donations to the Ghana Police Service and also to prisoners in support of the government help fight coronavirus.

He expressed his disappointment in some Ghanaian artiste (Criss Waddle and Medikal excluded) with their inability to help the government fight the spread of COVID-19 cases in Ghana which currently stands at 313.

COV!D-19/ Sarkodie Augments Gov’t Effort Towards Providing For The Vulnerable

GREATER ACCRA – Thursday, April 19, 2020/www.gbafrica/ – One of Africa’s most celebrated rap performing and recording artiste, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as, Sarkodie, has joined that tall list of Ghanaian and African Celebrities to give back to society, precisely the vulnerable in the wake of the pandemic outbreak to hit the whole globe, Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The rapper together with his record label; SarkCess Music and his charity organization; Sarkodie Foundation donated some relief items to some less privileged residents in Tema. This humanity initiative is to augment the Government of Ghana’s efforts towards providing some relief supplies, including food, water, medication, etc to people in need, especially those affected by the partial Lockdown exercise.

The donation exercise was led by manager of the Two (2) times Black Entertainment TV (BET) Award-winning musician, Angel Town. Some beneficiaries of the relief items joyfully expressed their gratitude to the musician for embarking on such an impressive initiative to help those who struggle to feed in this “Coronavirus” period. According them, this will go a long way to put smiles of their faces.

As at 7th April 2020, 23:30 hr, a total of 313 cases of COVID-19 with six (6) deaths have been recorded. The regional distribution of the cases are as follows: Greater Accra Region has most cases (274) followed by the Ashanti Region (25), Northern Region (10), Upper West Region (1), Eastern Region (1), Upper East Region (1) and Central Region (1).

A total of 161 cases were reported from the routine surveillance, 37 from enhanced surveillance activities and those from travellers under mandatory quarantine in both Accra and Tamale are 115. Enhanced contact tracing and testing is ongoing in Ghana and has resulted in increased number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The period for mandatory quarantine for travellers who arrived 21-22 March 2020 has ended. In all, a total 1,030 travellers were quarantined during the period. Out of these, 79 (7.7%) were positive during the initial testing whilst 951 were negative. Twenty-six (26) among those that were initially negative were found to have converted to be positive at the exit screening, bringing to a total of 105 which constitutes 10.2% among the travellers that were quarantined.

With regards to enhanced contact tracing and testing, as at 7th April 2020, a total of 11,016 samples from contacts have been processed and 37 (0.34%) have been confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Rapper Nasty C Becomes First African Artist To Have Shazam Exclusive Playlist

JOHANNESBURG – Thursday, April 9, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Award-winning South African rapper Nasty C has made history as the first African recording and performing artistes to have an Exclusive Playlist on Shazam, a computer and mobile software application owned and developed by Apple Inc, after he signed to Def Jam Recordings.

Nasty C added his new single “There They Go” from his upcoming album, Zulu Man, With Some Power as the first song on his playlist. Reggie Rockstone Angrily Blasts Social Media User Over Comment On His 6-Year-Old Daughter

GREATER ACCRA – Wednesday, April 8, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Ghanaian Rapper, Reggie Rockstone has angrily descended on a social media user who passed a silly comment threatening a gang bang “gala” on his 6-year-old daughter.

The social media user who is an alleged Shatta Wale Fan, goes by the name Abdul Basit.

Abdul Basit replied to Hitz Fm’s post on social media of Reggie addressing an issue with Shatta Wale.

In the video, Reggie commented on Shatta Wale’s comment on Tv3 about him bringing rap to Ghana and at the end of that video, he asked his daughter to say hi to “uncle Shatta”.

After which, Hitz Fm posted the video and Abdul Basit who is on twitter as @wallacejnr11 commented asking Reggie to give him his daughter for gang bang “gala”

This comment from Abdul Basit made Reggie Rockstone so angry…..calling him a pedophile and telling him the law would come for him.
