‘2020 Vision’ reverberates a top tier production and lyrics that are wrapped in some good old patois to get the feel going. It’s a positive song and one many are sure to keep on rotation day in, day out due to its great replay value.  The song premieres with visuals to match the stellar sonic delivery. The music video packs a punch with expert use of drone and aerial footage to symbolize visions as themed in the song.

‘’2020 Vision is not just a song to me. I started writing this song last year around this time. I had great feelings about the song. Fast forward into 2020, we get hit with a pandemic and puts everything on hold due to the severe cases of COVID-19. I was convinced that I would have to throw this powerful track into the archives. But the loss of Kobe, Nipsey, Pop and all the people we lost due to COVID gave me a wake-up call to let nothing stand in your way. I mean nothing! With that being said, I gathered my last change, emptied my whole bank account just to show you my vision. #2020Vision, I hope you all love it’’, expresses Peeda Profit

Born Peter Otchere, Peeda Profit is a fledging hot new artist who’s musical flair stems from Bronx, New York. Armed with hit songs like ‘Run Away’ and ‘Fear No Mon’, Peeda Profit is eager to gain traction in the motherland (Ghana) with his upbeat audio arsenal. Currently earning accolades for his most recent EP ‘’Bald Rasta’’, Peeda Profit’s finesse hasn’t escaped the sights of Africa’s ‘’rap god’’ Sarkodie, thanks to impressive songs like ‘Draco’ and ‘Right Away’ off the record.

Awards and Ceremoinies

Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy Represent Ghana At MOBO Awards; See Full Nomination List

The Mobo awards, which celebrate music of Black origin, have announced the nominees for their first ceremony since 2017. Two of Ghana’s biggest music export who croons the reggae & dancehall genre, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, have been nominated for the “Best African act” category. Alongside the aforementioned Ghanaian musicians the best African act category features other illustrious African talents, including Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Fireboy etc.

In 2006 Samini became the first Ghanaian to be awarded a MOBO when received “Best African Act” award for his exploits in the year under review which also included his self-titled album Samini.

After been under heavy criticisms in some previous years for giving major awards to white creatives, 2020 edition of the awards schemed have overwhelmingly nominated Black performers this year.

Founder Kanya King said she wanted the awards to “continue to uplift creative voices here in the UK and around the world … Recognising the unique role the Mobo awards plays for so many, and the challenging year we find ourselves in, it is now more important than ever to be there and to continue the rich history of showcasing the very best of Black music and culture.”

The virtual ceremony will be hosted by DJ and TV presenter Maya Jama alongside vocalist and online entertainer Chunkz, and feature performances from Headie One (with guest M Huncho), Ms Banks, Tiwa Savage and Kojey Radical, with more to be announced. It will be livestreamed on YouTube before a late-evening broadcast on BBC One.

The awards show, inaugurated in 1996, announced a one-year hiatus in 2018, with King saying the organisation needed time to “bring the platform to brand new heights”, and would return in 2019. That year’s event never took place; in November 2019, King instead announced the 2020 event – originally earmarked for Wembley Arena before the Covid-19 pandemic – saying she was “returning with even more determination and energy to support and boost our culture wherever we can”.

RUMORS: Spotify To Launch In Ghana – 2021

Spotify, previously available in only 5 African countries, will now be accessible in one additional African country. According to UNCONFIRMED REPORTS reaching the desk of, Ghana – one of the thriving creative ecosystem on the second-largest and second-most populous continent will be the next hub of Spotify’s African office, after the Swedish-based audio streaming and media services provider launched in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia.

According to the reports, the launch will open the door for millions of fans to start discovering new music from around the world on Spotify, and for artistes in the region to reach the increasingly connected global audience of fans. It added that, the launch in Ghana will be an important moment in Spotify’s journey, especially as they welcome fans and artistes in growing music markets like Ghana, where streaming is being widely adopted and where they see a significant opportunity for Spotify.

For African music stars, the availability of more music streaming services locally is a boon for their revenue models. Rampant piracy has previously meant musicians on the continent earn little from actual music sales in local markets and have, instead, relied on live shows and brand endorsements as the major revenue streams. With restrictions on large gatherings in most African cities for the foreseeable future many artists will focus more on maximizing streaming revenue, Apple Music reported earlier.

Musicians and songwriters have previously criticized Spotify for being unfairly compensated. Boller responded, “Spotify globally really wants to help artists live off their art.” In 2018, the streaming giant made its African debut after launching in South Africa. The company is making its services available at a time when smartphone use is becoming more widespread. Spotify now operates in over 60 countries and is the most popular streaming service in the world.

Spotify has 159-million users worldwide, of which 71-million pay for the premium service. It has 35-million songs and 2-billion playlists. It grew its premium users by 46% in 2017, according to its filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission when it announced its plans for an initial public offering on the New York Stock exchange last month. This will value the Swedish firm at $23-billion.

It says it controls 42% of the global music streaming market, which is double that of its closest rival Apple Music. Spotify grew its revenue to $4.99-billion last year, an increase from $3.6-billion in 2016. However, its operating losses grew from $426-million in 2016 to $461-million last year.
