Onua TV Introduces New Entertainment Talk Show

Onua Television, a subsidiary of leading Ghanaian media conglomerate, Media General, is set to introduce a new entertainment talk show dubbed Anigye Mmrɛ. The show will be driven by analysis of topical issues and discussion on approaches to develop the creative arts sector.

Anigye Mmrɛ is set to premiere on Thursday 24th September 2020 from 8:30 to 10pm on the free-to-air channel and will be hosted by the multiple award winning broadcaster, Christian Agyei Frimpong.

The show has a segment to review all the news making the headlines within the week and another segment to profile celebrities, industry kingpins and other key stakeholders and budding talents within the

Ghanaian creative arts sector. The discussion segment will have industry heavyweights deliberate on possible solutions to some of the problems that have engulfed the Ghanaian entertainment sector. The hilarious prank segment which put highly placed people in society on the spot.

Jullie Jay-Kanz Becomes First Ghanaian Female Blogger To Be Verified On Instagram

Multiple-award winning Ghanaian female blogger and publicist, Jullie Jay-Kanz has been verified on Instagram.  Jullie adds to the list of the few Ghanaian bloggers and the first  female blogger in Ghana  who has been verified by the photo and video sharing app. 

Celebrating the ‘achievement’, she took to her account Tuesday Morning 27th October 2020  and shared a photo of herself  with the caption: “@instagram  #verified”

Her followers also joined-in to congratulate her and encouraged her not to pay heed to naysayers.

After releasing her second riddim compilation project dubbed Nite Nurse EP which featured the likes of Jah Lead, Vybz Kartel’s Sikka Rhymes, Renner, Karamanti and more,  Jullie Jay-Kanz is out with another project named Mind Healing Riddim featuring talented  Ghanaian singer Baafour and other Jamaican artists including; Jemineye, Sheek, Dreswade, Ras Akurrate and Iceberg.

Family Feud Returns For A Second Season On Oct. 31

Ghana’s number one television station, TV3 Network, has announced the commencement of season two (2) of the iconic international game show, Family Feud, from Saturday 31st October 2020. at 9PM.

The show is scheduled to air every Saturday at 9PM with Steve Harvey, the Emmy Award-winning entertainer, radio personality, motivational speaker, New York Times best-selling author, businessman and philanthropist as the host. It has been a beloved part of people’s lives for generations where two families will compete to name the most popular responses to gathered survey questions in order to win cash and other prizes.

Steve Harvey has been hosting the American version of Family Feud with enormous success since 2010. The show has seen exponential ratings increases under Harvey, and he is on track to become the longest-serving host in Family Feud history.

The African version of Family Feud is produced in South Africa by Rapid Blue, part of the BBC Studios international family of production companies and has a strong legacy of producing award-winning localized African versions of international formats including Dancing with Stars, X Factor, Got Talent, Shark Tank, Come Dine With Me, Project Runway and First Dates.

Cookie Tee, Fiifi Coleman, Akumaa Zimbi, Others To Rump On “Rhythms on da Runway”

Cookie T; radio & television broadcaster, actor Fiifi Coleman, Akumaa Mama Zimbi; radio & television broadcaster and philanthropist, Gifty; Miss Universe 2012, Phylis Vesta Boison; Miss Malaika 2019 actor Umar Krup, and other notable creatives who serve as a visual aid for consumers or designers creating works of art have been announced as the official guest models who will rump on “Rhythms on da Runway“, slated for November 14, 6PM at the Underbridge, East Legon.

Launched early October at the plush African Regent Hotel, Accra- Ghana, the event will parade some of Africa’s most leading men’s wear and women’s wear designers who will be unveiling their latest collections and creations through a night of splendid fashion extravaganza. In addition to the usual assortment of business casual wear, streetwear, formal wear, ethnic fashion wear, and classic tailoring, the collections are anticipated to come with rich innovation and style.

This year’s edition under the ‘BEYOND THE RETURN’ theme will be strictly Ghanaian and its dubbed the ‘100 Ghanaian edition’ which is part of the Beyond the Return event activities. This means that only Ghanaian Fashionistas would showcase their fashion works on the runway. Other African and International fashion houses were not added to this year’s event as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Since its inception 13 years ago Rhythms on da runway have brought more fashion greats to showcase their works being rocked on the runway by some of the best models from Ghana. Last year’s event for ‘THE YEAR OF RETURN’ edition, was a huge success and saw African designers from far and wide converge to display their works. Designers like Mudi, Ophelia Crossland, Velma Accessories, Abrantie the gentleman and a host of other notable designers were amongst those that shared their works with fashion lovers present.

Founder and CEO of WatsUp TV, Abdoulaye “ABD” Traore has been nominated for the prestigious 2020 Ghana Industry CEO Awards, an annual awards scheme that identifies and recognizes the most outstanding Chief Executives in corporate Ghana across a wide range of sectors.

ABD Traore is nominated in the Media Television category for his exploits in the media industry in Ghana and across Africa.

He is nominated alongside: Hon Kennedy Agyapong (Net2 TV), Beatrice Agyemang Abbey (TV3), Ignace Hugo (4Syte TV) and Edward Boateng (ETV Ghana)

As founder and CEO of WatsUp TV, he has led his brand transition from a TV show in 2014 to a 24 Hours Television Channel in 2020. In 2018, he also launched his first entertainment music magazine named WatsUp Magazine, which was covered by Afrobeat highlife Ghanaian artist Bisa Kdei

With recent nominations at the 10th Radio and Television Presenters awards, WatsUp TV stands tall among TV shows across the continent as it airs in Ghana and Channels on Canal + exposing its content to viewership in over 40 countries across the world.

In 2018, Traore was also ranked among 100 Most Influential Young Africans a prestigious annual ranking of young people across Africa by Africa Youth Awards.
