Mr Eazi Announces ‘Life Is Eazi Vol. 3’ – A Cross-continental Sequel Of ‘Life Is Eazi Vol.1 & 2’

With details hidden from the public’s consumption, Mr Eazi is set to level out and one-up the playing field with a meaty collection dubbed ‘Life Is Eazi Vol. 3’ – a cross-continental sequel of ‘Life Is Eazi Vol.1 & 2’ that blends Bankufied magic and Dancehall. In a video shared on his official Instagram handle, the emPawa Africa boss revealed that, he will be dropping an all new single dubbed ‘The Don’ this Friday and mini album aptly captioned ‘Something Else’.
Mr. Eazi’s debut project, 2017’s Life Is Eazi, Vol.1: Accra to Lagos, soundtracked an IRL migration for the afrowave artiste from Kumasi, Ghana back to his native Nigeria. While attending college in Kumasi, Eazi found himself intimately moved by the highlife and dancehall being made, and eventually started to try his hand at creating his own.
In 2018, he dropped his sophomore project, Life Is Eazi, Vol. 2: Lagos to London, a thematic follow up to his debut. The project features some of his most well-received tracks over the past year like “Pour Me Water” and “Property,” and also features the likes of Chronixx, Burna Boy, and Simi on previously-unheard tracks. Like Accra to Lagos, the project is split into two halves, reflective of the extended time he’s been spending in London since leaving Nigeria.
Mr Eazi is known for pioneering Banku music, a sound “characterized by percolating rhythms and laid-back vocal delivered in Ghanaian Pidgin English”. Mr Eazi’s music largely fits into the category of Afrobeats, a contemporary West African pop genre that marries global pop, highlife, and hip-hop. Mr Eazi’s music has been described as having an R&B-like quality reminiscent of artists such as Beres Hammond and Gregory Isaacs.
