GREATER ACCRA, GHANA, Tuesday, April 28th, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Young Ghanaian Musician, Marince Omario, has just released his long awaited EP (Extended Play) “OBLITEY”.
Oblitey is a name given to the first male borns of Sakumo, it originates from the Ga Adangbe Ethnic group. The EP is made up of 5 songs and 1 feature from his group “ASQUAD”
When GBAfrica spoke to the artiste concerning the album he stated “On this album, I play the lead character Oblitey through whom I tell my stories. The album follows the story of Oblitey touching on themes of seeking love, dealing with rejection, overcoming family pressures, and striving with his brothers. The morals learned from the stories are my current ultimate way of making efforts to effect the change I want to see in my community.”
The album art features Oblitey portrayed leading his people through the forest to “promised land” signifying an adventurous leader who dares defy the odds without fear. Album art was designed by Thomas Rockson.
The artwork adds a touch of culture to the contemporary stories on the album.
Asquad is the only featured act on the album and they assist me on the final track.

‘Nowhere Cool’ Album by M.anifest – 4 Years On
4 years ago today, internationally acclaimed award-winning Ghanaian musician, M.anifest dropped one of his biggest albums ‘Nowhere Cool’. This album he termed as his first coordinated and intentional effort. ‘Nowhere Cool’s’ album production encompasses a mixture of digital and live instruments. Contributing to the albums groovy production are Ghanaian producers Kuvie and Drumroll. On the album, M.anifest features top musicians; Brymo, Tumi Molekane, Dex Kwasi, Nomisupasta, Paapa, Cina Soul, and Worlasi.
The album cover art which M.anifest describes as clean, eerie, ridiculous was designed by Zimbabwean artist Koudzanai.
For four years the ‘Nowhere Cool’ album has performed magnificently on streaming sites. This shows the type of masterpiece M.anifest has served us with and no wonder music lovers wish this album be nominated for a Grammy award.
‘Nowhere Cool’ got its name from a story of the same title in Ama Ata Aidoo’s short story collection ‘The Girl Who Can’. Ama Ata Aidoo was featured on track 13 ‘Now Here Cool’ alongside Cina Soul.
M.anifests’ originality and versatility have earned him collaborations with musical giants such as Burna Boy, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz), Tiggs Da Author, Erykah Badu, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Tony Allen.

acts even though the year has been hit by the worldly pandemic, COVID 19. The ever-ending
need to serve their fans with good music is what drives these artists to put
their music across even in these times. Here are some top artists in Nigeria and

Twice As Tall, Burna Boy – Mixed out on the
Grammy but never missing out to serve the world with good music is Nigerian,
afro-fusion artist Burna Boy. His latest album Twice as tall which has 15 songs
takes into consideration topics of systematic racism, poverty, and rampant
Oxygen EP, Oxlade – The debut EP, Oxygen
EP, is an introduction to the eclectic sounds of Oxlade. It is a six tracked
Yellow, Brymo – Alternative musician, Brymo served us Yellow,
his seventh studio album which was released independently on April 1, 2020. He
describes the album as “love and survival”. Yellow is an alternative
pop and electronic record that incorporates elements of a sentimental ballad,
trap, sophistic-pop, shoegaze, rock, synth-pop, and folk.
Warriors, 2 Baba – Afrobeats, Afropop, and
even reggae are genres you would find in this amazing project. 2 Baba serves
his fans with the album Warriors which is a follow-up to his last project
Ascension, released in 2014. Warriors feature music heavyweights including
Burna Boy, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, AJ, Peruzzi, Syemca, and HI.
The Live Report, M.I, and A-Q – The live
Report- a five-day journal is too hot for an EP that started from a twitter
chat. The joint EP is a timely study of society and a response to conundrums
mixed by M.I, boss of Incredible Music, and put across during Nigeria’s COVID
19 lockdown era.
Apollo, Fireboy DML – Fireboy describes his
sophomore album as one that is about evolution, growth, love, and pain. The 17-song
album features collaborations with Olamide, Wande Coal, and D Smoke with Pheelz,
IamBeatz, P-Prime, and Type-A on production.
Original Copy, Cuppy – The 12-tracked debut
album from Cuppy portrays the act of being fearless. She features Stonebwoy and
Efya to spice the album up. The whole mentality for the album is what cuppy
puts in the phrase “you were born an original, don’t die a copy”.
AfroPop Vol 1, Adekunle Gold – A fusion of several
dominant sounds on the African continent, which include Afropop, R&B,
electronic, Afrobeats, ragga, Afro-swing, and Afro-bashment. To Adekunle Gold, Afro
Pop, Vol. 1 is his freedom and, he took all the risk in making this masterpiece
in his voice from sounds from Africa.
MI Abaga Commends Worlasi For His An Amazing Album.
LAGOS STATE – Tuesday, May 12, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Last year Worlasi released one of the very best albums to come out of Africa. He calls it “WORLA” which means ‘The Man and the god’.
The album portrays the originality of African rhythm and music.
He featured Senkulive, a Pop Live Band Based in Ghana on all the songs on the project.
Nigerian award-winning musician, MI Abaga just sent a tweet commending Worlasi for his amazing album.

Drake Releases New Mixtape “Dark Lane Demo Tapes”
Canadian rapper, Drake, has shared a new mixtape called Dark Lane Demo Tapes.
The Dark Lane Demo Tapes includes the recently-released hit “Toosie Slide” which has been all over social media during this lockdown period.
Also, there are a couple of other songs he’s put out in the last few months, including “Desires,” “When To Say When,” and “Chicago Freestyle.”
The project has features from Future, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Fivio Foreign, Sosa Geek, and Chris Brown and consists of 14 songs.
“My brothers [Oliver El-Khatib] and [Noel Cadastre] put together a lot of the songs people have been asking for (some leaks and some joints from SoundCloud and some new vibes),” Drake wrote in an Instagram post, where he also announced that his sixth studio album would be coming out this summer.
It’s the follow-up to 2018’s Scorpion. Dark Lane Demo Tapes is more in the lane of last year’s Care Package, which also compiled a bunch of tracks that had been previously floating around in the ether.
