Lekzy D’Comic Announces A Free Comedy Show For Ghanaians

GREATER ACCRA – Thursday, April 16, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Kasa Entertainment, organizers of the well established Laughline Comedy Show, has announced a complimentary or gratis edition of its monthly comedy show with illustrious Ghanaian stand-up comedian, Lekzy De Comic, as the host and will feature a legion of Ghanaian recording and performing artistes.

Though the venue, date and time is yet to be made known, the event promises to be fun as the best comedians in the Ghana have been billed to engage patrons on the night. The Laughline comedy show has carved a very good niche for itself in the Ghanaian comedy industry and regular patrons of the event can attest to this fact.

The event, which has been effective until Lockdown and ban on social gathering measures was announced by the government of Ghana to curb the spread of COVID-19, will revamp with a free edition after the restrictions of movement is lifted. Performing live is ID James Brown, Foster Romanus, Comedian Waris, DKB, MJ The Comedian, Jacinta, Teacher kwadwo and others.

Speaking in an interview with www.gbafrica.com’s Entertainment Journalist, Gerrard-Israel, Lekzy De Comic stated that, since majority of Ghanaians spent too much during the lockdown and self-quarantine period, his team arrived at this conclusion to deliver entertainment with no cost, regardless. This edition will also go a long way to ease the tension, boredom and stress off the citizens.

He revealed that, in September, there’s going to be a subsequent edition of the ribs cracking event which will host astute comedians from Ghana, spiced up with talents and stand-up comedians from other parts of the region and continent, including Uganda, Rwanda, Cape Verde, South Africa and Kenya.

However, Lekzy De Comic stated that, though the Ghanaian traditional media (Journalists, Bloggers, Art Writers and Entertainment Hosts), is trying to elevate and propagate the comedy genre in the Ghana, he believes the mass communication media can still do more for the comedians in Ghana to gain the much needed attention it’s lacking, this he explained, will derive more sponsorship.

Tanzanian Comedian Idris Sultan Arrested ​for ‘Cyber-Bullying’ President

DODOMA – Saturday, May 23, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Popular Tanzanian comedian Idris Sultan has been arrested for what has been described as allegedly intimidating or threatening – “cyber-bullying” President John Magafuli – after a video of him laughing at an old photograph of the President was shared on social media.

This becomes the second time the comedian and actor has been arrested on charges of cyber-bullying the President of the Tanzanian. Last year, he was accused of contravening the country’s Cybercrimes Act after he posted a photo on social media where he had face swapped an image of the president on his 60th birthday with a caption that read “We swapped roles for a day so that he could enjoy his birthday in peace”.

According to the Tanzanian law, “A person shall not initiate or send any electronic communication using a computer system to another person with intent to coerce, intimidate, harass or cause emotional damage.” Though Sultan’s lawyer commented on his arrest but did not divulge very many details, the police claim Idris used the internet to harass the president.

Bandex Threatens To Take Comedian Lil Wayne To Court If He Doesn’t Retract And Apologize For Alleged Defamatory Statement

Kumawood actor, Lil Win has been given 7 days to retract and apologize for an alleged defamatory statement he made against movie producer Bandex or face court action.

According to a notice issued by the lawyers of Bandex, Lil Win had granted interviews saying Bandex owes him an amount of money for some movies they shot together.

Bandex’s lawyers described the statement as false and claimed that Bandex had paid the actor through his manager who had confirmed payment.

VIDEO: Ghanaian Comedians SDK and Clemento Suarez release African Beatings

One of the songs on the album which has been making waves is “African Party” and Ghanaian comic actors SDK and Clemento Suarez have released a comic version of Stonebwoy’s African Party titled African Beatings.

In the video, the two-act as African mothers who are about to discipline a thief they have caught with beatings.
