JOBURG – Thursday, May 21, 2020/www.gbafrica.net/ – Converse’s “Create At Home” campaign introduces a new way the brand is working with its communities across the globe, challenging people to share their creative work.
In South Africa, the brand is partnering with J’Something to elevate new voices through #CreateAtHome. Both artists selected to collaborate with J’Something have a unique factor: S’phiwe Moya’s flow, energy and her ability to bring lyrics across and Aidan Fraser’s unforgettable tone and character.
The resulting song, “Wish You Were Here”, shows a range of diversity and versatility with J’Something co-producing and Jay Em editing each artist’s part that was sent via voice note, a process that is essentially unconventional but which yielded an amazing result.

Skyscrapa has released a very impressive Afrobeat single titled ‘To be Back’. Produced by 3nity, the song talks about the shenanigans most young people undertook during their school days – a refreshing reminiscent reminder for most listeners. The lyrics expertly features experiences spanning from primary all through to JHS.
Skyscrapa tells satirical stories about some of his old teachers, friends and foes. In a brilliantly nostalgic moment, he shares a picturesque throwback to how teachers could stereotype and label students as bad boys or vagabonds just because they sat at the back of the class.
If you are looking for a song to take you on a trip down memory lane, this is the perfect one for you.
