Ghana 1-2 Gambia: Unconvincing Satellites Make Last 8 Despite Defeat

Black Satellites escape elimination on the account of finishing as one of the best third-place teams in spite of their 2-1 defeat to Gambia in the 2021 AFCON U-20 on Monday evening in Noaudhibou.
Ghana after picking four points from two matches started the game on a blistering pace and scored an early goal when Fatawu Issahaku powered home the game’s opening goal with a thumping strike from 30-yards out.
Kajally Drammeh equalized for the Young Scorpions with a header from close range on the 20th-minute mark to make it 1-1.
Fourteen minutes later,Lamarana Jallow scored from a long way out from a direct free-kick to turn it around for the Gambians.
Ghana failed to live up to expectations in the second half and could not find the equalizer as they succumbed to a 1-2 loss to finish third on the table and qualified as one of the best third-placed teams in the tournament.
