BREAKING: Golden Movie Awards Africa Rescheduled For Dec. 19

Published

on

The Governing Board and Grand Jury of the Golden Movie Awards Africa have, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the scheme, rescheduled this year’s edition of the event, which was scheduled for 5th December, 2020. 19th December, 2020 has been announced as the new date for the 6th edition of the event which remains Africa’s biggest awards scheme, helping to change the negative narrative of Africa through film.

“This has become necessary based on the upcoming general elections, which the scheme did not anticipate to be as intensive and sensitive as we are currently witnessing”, according to a news release signed by Wilhemina Andani Michaels, Dir. of African Affairs – Golden Movie Awards Africa

The news released also revealed that, the scheme intends to celebrate all nominees and honorees in an extra special way this year for defying all the challenges posed by COVID-19 to put Africa on the world map through film. “In view of this, the scheme is satisfied that it will be more expedient to do so in an atmosphere that is devoid of the anxiety and agitation that comes with elections”, it added

According to the scheme, this decision notwithstanding, all GMAA PASSPORTS bearing the old date still hold valid and will be accepted and the guests granted entry to the venue on the 19th of December.

Tickets application extended, visit: www.goldenmovieawards.com and their social media platforms @goldenmovieawards for more information on venue and time.
