Applying Cologne The Right Way.

Most people think applying cologne is probably the easiest thing to do, but when applied way too heavily, it can actually end up being worse than foul odor itself.
Nonetheless, it’s an art that, when practiced and perfected, will help mark your final transition into manhood.

Once you’ve chosen the right smelly, applying it properly is, in its own way a form of chemistry. Luckily, there are strategies for how to apply cologne and how to know when you’ve gone overboard, so you won’t have to worry about ending up smelly.

How To Apply Cologne

• Apply cologne after you get out of the shower to clean, dry skin. This is when your skin’s pores are opened the most. This will allow the skin to trap the most cologne possible, leading to less wastage.

• Don’t spray the cologne into the air and walk through it.

• Target pulse points, such as your inner wrists and neck. While most people go for the simple neck and wrists routine, your shoulders, inner elbows, and armpits are also very warm areas. If you have a high-quality scent and you’ve applied it right, 1 spray per area will do much better.

• Hold the bottle 3-6 inches away from your skin when spraying.

• Don’t use too much (2-4 squirts are ideal).

• Don’t rub the cologne into your skin after application.

• Reapply to your wrists when the fragrance wears off.

The better you are at this, the better sillage (the trail of scent left behind you) you’ll get, the more complex and layered your cologne will smell throughout the day, and ultimately, the more you’ll get out of every bottle.
