6 Of The Best Ethereal Beauty Looks From The Rodarte Runway

From the candlelit church venue to the deep plum lip (inspired by Winona Ryder in Bram Stoker’s Dracula) painted onto each of the 51 models, everything about Rodarte’s Autumn/Winter 2020 show was breathtakingly beautiful.

James Kaliardos masterminded the magical, gothic make-up look; creating dewy, pale skin by using different shades of NARS concealer to play up the tones of each model’s skin. Ethereal radiance pretty much sums up the effect.

For a gothic effect, Kaliardos added a dark lip, using NARS Train Bleu Velvet Matte Lip Pencil layered with Star Rockin’ Precision Lip Pencil and Liv Audacious Lipstick, and long, fan-like false lashes. “I start by drawing on the cupid’s bow, then draw a horizontal line at the bottom of the lip, making two dots on the sides of the mouth and connecting them – it helps balance out the lip, which is often asymmetrical. I want to have a little bit of lift at the top and a bit of downward depth at the bottom, because I don’t want it looking too curvy,” he explained.

Hairstylist Odile Gilbert created a centre parting and “cool, imperfect waves” using a ghd Curve tool, before adding a half-up, half-down top knot in some of the models’ hair. “There were different coloured veils or flowers which relate to what the models are wearing,” she explained. “The veils are like nets and we weave the elastic through it, like a curtain pole through a curtain, and then pull the elastic tight once over the top knot. Then we tighten and tie the elastic, which gives the perfect shape to the netting over the hair and face.” A simple technique that still allowed the precise, dark lips and glowing skin to shine.

Here, six of the most ethereal beauty looks from the Rodarte runway.

The move to expand into Africa by the fashion team was not only a business venture but to also set up funding and training programs for aspiring designers and youths, through a designer development program.

According to their managing director, he believes its primary factor to giving back to the community of which they wish to expand into.

According to Clavon Leonard, quality over quantity is an essential motto since their inception and they feel it is even more essential to maintain that in Africa.

Clavon Leonard Provides The Luxury Alternative In Africa

The South African representative explained they do not have as many clients (In South Africa) as they do in USA, however, those that have bought into the value of Clavon Leonard are more consistent in their desire to buy into the luxury and quality provided by the Clavon Leonard brand.

This estimation is presumed by the South African brand ahead of their fashion promotional campaign which is said to kick off next year in 2022. Until then the team continues to engage in market analysis and philanthropist activities with its youth fashion programs.
